The minister of national defence Mihai Fifor made an official visit to the Republic of Serbia, accompanied by the Chief of Defence, General Nicolae Ciuca, through December 3rd-4th.

The bilateral talks contributed to the enhancement of the political and military dialogue and focused on the security situation in the Western Balkans, the development of the cooperation relations in areas of mutual interest, inclusively in the field of military education and medicine, as well as on the collaboration within regional initiatives.

On this occasion, The agreement between the Government of Romania and the Government of the Republic of Serbia on the cooperation in the defence field was signed. The document will stand for the foundation of an intensified military cooperation.

The two officials expressed their belief that the topics approached during the talks would contribute to the development of the practical cooperation between the armed forces of the two states.
