A series of measures meant to build an allied credible deterrence and defence posture were adopted at the Warsaw Summit by the heads of state and governments, inclusively by creating an enhanced Forward Presence (eFP) on the Northern part of the Eastern Flank and of a tailored Forward Presence (tFP) for the Southern part of the Alliance Flank.

The forward presence on NATO's Eastern Flank concerns the dynamics of the security environment in the region and mainly focused on the ground dimension in the Northern part, with ground, air maritime and CJET components in the Southeast part.
