The Minister of National Defence, Mihai Fifor, met with the German Ambassador to Romania, Cord Meier Klodt, on Tuesday, December 5th, at the MoND headquarters. During the talks, the two officialsapproached current topics on NATO and EU agenda as well as the possibility to enhance bilateral cooperation, inclusively in the field of defence.

Minister Fifor emphasized the importance of the continuous colaboration between Romania adn Germany with a view of implementing the allied decision adopted at the Warsaw Summit as well as of the rendering operational the Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO). In this context, the defence minister mentioned the allied efforts in building NATO's forward presence in the black Sea region and pointed out the support offered by the German part in implementing Romania's initiatives.

At the same time, minister Fifor expressed his interest in enhancing the technical-military cooperation with the German partner by identifying and imenting certain projects that will stimulate the German investments and the technological transfer to Romania.
