The 2017 Chiefs of Transformation Conference took place from Tuesday 12 December to Thursday 14 December 2017 in Norfolk, Virginia. Romania was represented by a delegation conducted by Brigadier General Iulian Berdila, the Chief of Strategic Planning Directorate of the General Staff.

The conference was chaired by General Denis Mercier, Commander of the Allied |Command Transformation and tackled the main topics and priorities regarding the challenges and opportunities characterizing the long-term transformation and development of the military capabilities.

During two days, national decision-making factors and experts from the NATO state members and partners, representing the Alliance leadership and command structures, centers of excellence, educational and training structures, international organizations but also representatives of the academic and industry fields, debated on subjects related to this year chosen topic: Prepare for Tomorrow, Share the Future.

Due to the importance and recentness of the topics debated, this annual conference represented a key-event in establishing the future path of the transformation process.
