Celebrating the Union of the Romanian Principalities

The Ministry of National Defence organizes military and religious ceremonies on Wednesday, January 24th , in celebration of the Union of the Romanian Principalities.

The wreath-laying ceremony in Bucharest will take place at 10.25 hrs., at the statue of Ruler Alexandru Ioan Cuza, located on the Hill of the Romanian Patriarchy.

From 10.00 to 14.00 hrs., a historical and military event will be organized at the National Military MuseumRegele Ferdinand I, that will be attended by representatives of historical recreation associations, who will recreate with the help of uniforms, weapons and training demonstrations the time of Ruler Alexandru Ioan Cuza. Wreath-laying ceremonies will take place at the monuments of Ruler Alexandru Ioan Cuza, Mihail Kogalniceanu and General Ioan Emanoil Florescu located in the yard of the museum.

The military and religious ceremony in Iasi will take place at the monument of Alexandru Ioan Cuza in Unirii Square, from 11.00 hrs.

From 11.00 hrs., in Unirii Square a military and religious ceremony will be organized as well as a show presented by artists from the Municipal Theater in Focsani, from the Ensemble Țara Vrancea while the Guard of Honor of the 30th Mihai Viteazul Brigade will be marching.

Similar ceremonies as well as scientific communications will be organized, a gala of documentary films, exhibitions and artistic shows together with the local authoroties, in garrisons hosting monuments raised in honor of the Union of the Romanian Principalities.
