Media Day at Multinational Exercise PLATINUM EAGLE 18.1

The Secondary Combat Training Center of the Romanian Land Forces in Babadag, Tulcea County, will host the Media Day, organized for the Multinational Exercise PLATINUM EAGLE 18.1, at 13.00 hrs., on Thursday, February 15th.

The journalists will have the opportunity to watch a drill including combat shooting with the weapons that equip the five armed forces participating in the exercise.

Also present in the activity will be students from Ovidius University in Constanta and a group of scouts from the National Organization Scouts of Romania, who will have the opportunity to discuss with servicemen from NATO member and partner countries.

Media representatives intending to participate in the activity are requsted to send their identification details by Wednesday, February 14th, 18.00hrs., at email relatii.publice01375@forter.ro. They are expected at the exit from Enisala locality, DJ 222 (coordinates 44.862612, 28.860659), on Thursday, February 15th, from 12.40 to 13.00 hrs.

During exercise PLATINUM EAGLE 18.1, conducted over February 12th to 16th at the Secondary Combat Training Center of the Romanian Land Forces in Babadag, over 300 servicemen from Bulgaria, Ukraine, the Republica of Moldova, Romania and the USA train in order to increase interoperability among participating forces, to maintain the deployment capability and to develop a regional environement suitable for multinational military cooperation.

The Romanian Armed Forces are represented by troops from the 9th Marasesti' Mechanized Brigade of the Land Forces, the 307th Marines Battalion of the Navy and Air Force personnel from the 86th Locotenent aviator Gheorghe Mociornita' Air Base.
