Defence Minister Mihai Fifor met with Avi Dichter, the Chief of the Committee of Defence and Foreign Policy of the Israeli Parliament, on Wednesday, February 28th, in Jerusalem.

The discussions focused on the intensification of the bilateral defence cooperation, as well as on the evolution of the security situation in the Black Sea Region and in the Middle East.

The Romanian Defence Minister brought up in discussions the priorities of the Romanian Government in the defence field, with focus on the modernization of the armed forces procurement, in the context of the allocation of two percent of GDP for defence.

The two officials pointed out the importance of continuing the strategic dialogue between Israel and Romania in order to further develop the joint defence projects.
