The Romanian Defence Minister Meets with the Croatian Defence Minister

The Minister of National Defence, Mihai Fifor, had a meeting with his Croatian counterpart, Damir Krstieeviae, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of Croatia, on Tuesday, March 27th.

The two officials discussed the stage of the Romanian-Croatian cooperation on defence at bilateral and regional level, within NATO and the EU.

Minister Fifor spoke of Romania's procurement priorities in the context of the two percent of the GDP allotted for defence and highlighted the cooperation opportunities that derive from here.

A special attention was given to the security situation in the Black Sea region and the West Balkans. They analyzed the possibilities to enhance the cooperation between the two countries on defence. The Romanian side reiterated the invitation that the Croatian military should contribute to rendering operational NATO structures hosted by Romania and to participate in multinational exercises to be conducted in Romania in 2018.

Together with his Croatian counterpart, the Romanian defence minister opened the Conference Business to Business, conducted at the Chamber of Economy of Croatia and had a meeting with representatives of HS Produckt company.
