NATO Defence Ministers' Meeting in Brussels, June 7th to 8th

Defence Minister Mihai Fifor participates in NATO Defence Ministers' Meeting in Brussels, over June 7th to 8th.

The agenda of the first day of the meeting includes a briefing on the stage of implementing the allied posture of deterrence and defence, as well as ways of making it more efficient. The allied forward presence on the eastern flank and getting more allies involved in implemeting it are topics that hold a special interest for our country. Another topic on the first day's agenda is burden-sharing. The defence ministers will also talk of projecting stability and the fight against terrorism and the progress made in launching a new NATO training mission in Iraq.

The second day of the meeting will deal mainly with the cooperation of NATO and the EU. On this day the meeting takes place of the countries contributing to the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS, chaired by US Secretary of Defense, James Mattis.
