Minister of National Defence, Mihai Fifor, is on official visit in the United States of America from September 24 to September 28, 2018. He will officially meet his counterpart, State Secretary for Defence James Mattis in Pentagon.

The minister of Defence heads an official delegation consisting of the State Secretary for Armaments Aurel Ignat and General Nicolae Ciuca, Chief of Defence.

The meeting agenda from Pentagon aims to the strengthening of the Romanian-USA cooperation in bilateral and NATO framework.

On September 24, Minister Mihai Fifor will attend the CEPA Forum Winning the 21st Century - Allied Strength and Solidarity", as a special guest within the working panel "Beyond 2%: Quantity and Quality in European Defence Investments". This Forum is organized by the Centre for European Policies ‘Analysis (CEPA), based in Washington D.C.

The visit also includes an official meeting with the Governor of Alabama Kay Ivey on September 27. On this occasion the officials will focus their talks on the excellent cooperation between the Romanian Armed Forces and the National Guard from Alabama.

The Romanian Minister of Defence will meet a series of representatives from the USA Congress and will approach priority issues from the Defence agenda, focusing on concrete cooperation aspects between both states.
