On Saturday, October 27th, the chief of the Royal Canadian Air Force, Lieutenant General Alexander Donald Meinzinger, will make a visit to the 57th Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base, where he is scheduled to meet the chief of the Romanian Air force, Air Flotilla General Viorel Pana, as well as the Canadian Detachment deployed in the base.

Journalists interested to attend the event are requested to send their identification data (name, surname, series and number of the identity card, the media institution they represent and their phone number) as well as the registration number of the vehicle by Saturday, October 27th, 09.00 at email address: dlazar@roaf.ro. The access of the mass-media representatives into the base will be permitted between 11.00 and 11.30, at the entrance of Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base.

The Candian Detachment made up of 135 soldiers (pilots and technical personnel) and CF-188 Hornet aircraft, execute together with the MiG-21 LanceRs and the Romanian Air Force aviators NATO-led enhanced Air Policing missions.

The joint enhanced Air Policing missions contribute to the development of the reaction and deterrence capability as well as to the increase of interoperability between the Romanian Air Forces and the Royal Canadian Air Force.
