On Friday, November 9th, the Romanian and Canadian Defence Ministers, Mihai Fifor si Harjit Singh Sajjan, will make a visit to the 57th Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base, where they will meet with the Canadian Detachment deployed in the base to conduct enhanced Air Policing missions, as well as with the Romanian Air Force personnel who carry out their activity in the 57th Air Base.

Journalists interested to attend the event are requested to send their identification data (name, surname, series and number of the identity card, the media institution they represent and their phone number) as well as the registration number of the vehicle by Friday, November 9th, 09.00 a.m. at email address: dlazar@roaf.ro. The access of the mass-media representatives into the base will be permitted between 13.00 and 13.30, at the entrance of Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base.

The Canadian Detachment made up of 135 soldiers (pilots and technical personnel) and CF-188 Hornet aircraft, execute together with the MiG-21 LanceRs and the Romanian Air Force aviators NATO-led enhanced Air Policing missions.

The joint enhanced Air Policing missions contribute to the development of the reaction and deterrence capability as well as to the increase of interoperability between the Romanian Air Forces and the Royal Canadian Air Force.
