Hand-over⁄take-over ceremony of the Command of the Romanian-Hungarian Joint Peace-keeping Battalion

The Hand-over/take-over ceremony of the Command of the Romanian-Hungarian Joint Peace-keeping Battalion will take place on Friday, November 16th, in Arad Fortress, at the Headquarters of Colonel RADU GOLESCU" 191st Infantry Battalion, in the presence of defence minister Mihai Fifor. The Battalion also celebrates 20 years since its establishment.

The command will be handed over to the Hungarian structure by the commander of the Romanian module.

Journalists interested in the activity will be expected at Colonel RADU GOLESCU" 191st Infantry Battalion Headquarters, today, starting with 15.30.

On October 3rd 1997, Colonel RADU GOLESCU" 191st Infantry Battalion was chosen to be part of a joint Romanian-Hungarian structure. On March 20 1998, at Budapest, the chiefs of the Romanian and Hungarian Defence Staffs signed the Agreement between the Romanian Government and the Hungarian Republic's Government on the establishment of the Romanian-Hungarian Joint Peace-keeping Battalion.
The battalion has a joint command, made up of a Romanian element and a Hungarian one, with equal responsibilities and the command of the structure is rotated annually.
