The meeting of Defence Minister Les with the Ambassador of Poland in Romania, at MoND Headquarters

Defence Minister Gabriel Les met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Romania, Marcin Wilczek, on Monday, December 10th, at the MoND Headquarters.

During the talks, the two officials discussed the main Romanian-Polish lines of cooperation in the field of defence, in the context of the Strategic Partnership between the two states, with focus on Romania's and Poland's participation in the implemenattion of the Allied measures designated to consolidate NATO's Eastern flank.

The Minister of National Defence thanked the Polish Ambassador for his country's contribution to the consolidation of the Eastern flank by participating with troops to the Headquarters Multinational Brigade South-East from Craiova and expressed his support offered in the implementation of the developed initiatives in order to provide a coherent answer of the Alliance to the current challenges and threats from the region.

Also, the two officials emphasized the usefulness and dynamics of the B9 format- initiative launched by Romania in partnership with the authorities from Warsaw which proves its importance through the manner the participaning states value the inititives launched within this format.

At the end of the meeting, Minister Les and Ambassador Wilczek pointed out the importance of maintaining an increased tempo of the political-military dialogue with a view of enhancing cooperation bwteen the two states in the field of defence.
