Communications and Information System NATO Exercise STEADFAST COBALT 2019

Steadfast Cobalt 2019, the largest communications and information system NATO exercise, took place over 19 May-2 June, at the 48 Strategic Communications and Information Technology Center from Otopeni.

Over 1200 Romanian and foreign soldiers from 35 NATO Communications and Information Technology Structures participate in the exercise, whose goal is to test, check and validate the interoperability of the C4ISR system (Command, Control, Communications and Information Technology, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance).

Steadfast Cobalt 2019 was planned by the Supreme Allied Command Europe and was led by the Commander of NATO CIS Group (NCISG), Major General Wolfgang Renner.

The goal of the exercise is to jointly train in order to offer multinational support during NATO operations and to practice standard operating procedures required to reach interoperability in the field of human resources and technical field.
On Tuesday, 21 May, starting 9.00, a press day will be organized as part of the exercise.
Journalists interested in attending the activity are requested to send, by Monday, 20 May, starting 14.00, on email address relatiipublice.smap@gmail.com, the identification data (name, surname, series and ID number, the media institution they represent and their phone number), as well as the registration number of the vehicle.

The mass-media representatives will be expected on 21 May, between 8.15 and 08.30, at the headquarters of the 48 Strategic Communications and Information Technology Center.
