The Romanian Aviation and Romanian Air Force's Day

On the occasion of the celebration of the Romanian Aviation and Romanian Air Force's Day, there will be a religious and wreath laying ceremony organized in the memory of the aviators on Saturday, July 20th, at the Air Heroes' Monument, in the Aviatorilor Square.

25 F-16 Fighting Falcon, MiG-21 LanceR, IAR-99 Soim, IAR-99 Standard, C-27J Spartan aircraft and IAR-330 Puma helicopters of the Romanian Air Force, 2 Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft of the Italian Air force, 6 EC-135 and Mi-17 helicopters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 3 IAR-330 Puma helicopters of the Romanian Intelligence Service and 4 Extra 300 aircraft of Romania's Aeroclub will execute flight drills.

Over 16-18 July, starting 10.00, military aircraft participating in the Romanian Air Force's event will executed flight drills in the area of the Air Heroes' Monument, Aviatorilor Square.

The Romanian Aviation and Romanian Air Force's Day is celebrated In the same month, 109 years ago, Aurel Vlaicu was executing the first complete flight with an airplane built only by himself, on our country's territory.

The Italian detachment made up of almost 130 servicemen (pilots and technical personnel) with Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft, deployed on Mihail Kogalniceanu airfield, participates in several NATO-led enhanced Air Policing missions, together with F-16 Fighting Falcon and MiG-21 LanceR aircraft and Romanian Air Force military personnel.
