On August 29, the Minister of National Defence, Gabriel Les, had a bilateral meeting with his Hellenic counterpart, Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos, as part of the Informal Meeting of Defence Ministers.

During the meeting, the two ministers emphasized the excellent level of cooperation between Romania and Greece and evaluated the perspectives of further developing this bilateral cooperation. Other topics of common interest such as common participation in the projects developed in the context of the Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO) initiative and the support Greece can offer Romania with respect to the strengthening of the allied security which NATO ensures in the Black Sea Region were also approached during the reunion.
