The repatriation ceremony of the post-mortem Second Lieutenant Ciprian-Stefan Polschi and Vasile Raduna, member of the diplomatic mission of Romania in Kabul, who fell on duty while accomplishing their missions in Afghanistan, will take place on Tuesday, September 10, at 12.30, at the 90 Airlift Base, Otopeni.

Second Lieutenant Ciprian-Stefan Polschi, who was assigned driver within NATO Kabul Headquarters ‘structures, lost his life on Thursday, September 5, following the explosion of a car bomb, nearby the Green Zone from the capital city of Afghanistan, while he was driving the military vehicle.

Vasile Raduna, member of the diplomatic mission of Romania in Kabul, died in the night of 2-3 September, during the terrorist attack which took place in the campus where the Romanian Embassy to Kabul was located.

The two heroes were decorated post-mortem by Romania's president with the National Order de Steaua Romaniei in the Rank of Knight, with the war sign.
