Following a fruitful collaboration, the Canadian Royal Air Force is at its third rotation in Romania, after the two missions executed throughout September-December 2017 and September-December 2018. During the previous missions, the Canadian detachment participated in joint multinational training exercises which contributed to the increase of interoperability between the Romanian and Canadian Air Forces.

The enhanced joint Air Policing missions will contribute to the development of the reaction and deterrence capability as well as to the increase of interoperability between the Romanian and Canadian Air Forces.

The deployment of the Canadian Air Force aircraft to Romania is part of the implementation of the Action Plan that ensures NATO's operational capability on its Eastern flank both in the North area and in the South, demonstrating, at the same time, NATO's unity and determination in response to the challenges of the security environment.
