Defence Minister Nicolae-Ionel Ciuca met with the Ambassador of Germany to Romania, Cord Meier-Klodt, on Wednesday, December 11, at the MoND Headquarters.

The two officials talked about the defence cooperation at bilateral and multinational levels, within the North-Atlantic Alliance and European Union formats, as well as with respect to the peace-keeping and UN-led missions.

The meeting agenda also included the efficient cooperation between the two countries within the Framework Nation Concept (DEU FNC) coordinated by Germany at NATO level, the two officials expressing their commitment to continue their efforts in the field of joint capability building.

The Minister of National Defence also thanked for the support received from Germany in the field of the training preliminary to the Romanian detachment's deployment to Mali. The Romanian detachment will contribute for a year to the peace-keeping efforts in this African region as part of the MINUSMA Mission.
