State Secretary for Defence Policy Planning and International Relations, Simona Cojocaru, met with the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Bucharest, His Excellency Salah Abdelsadek, today, 15 January.

During the talks, the two dignitaries analyzed the status and ways to develop the Romanian-Egyptian cooperation relations in the field of defence, the dialogue being a continuation of the talks initiated during the first edition of Romania-Egypt Forum from Bucharest, which took place on 26th November 2019.

The current international security situation, especially the developments from the Middle East as well as the efforts of the international community with regard to counterterrorism were some of the topics approached by the two officials.

The parties expressed their commitment to continuing the political-military dialogue with a view of enhancing bilateral cooperation by identifying common projects such as the military educational system or the defence industry.
