Patients diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 hospitalized at ROL 2 Military Hospital from Otopeni

Following the decision of the National Coordination and Command Center, the ROL 2 Military Hospital located within the premises of Ana Aslan Gerontology and Geriatrics Institute from Otopeni started to take over patients diagnosed with COVID-19.The first seven patients arrived yesterday and this morning.

Over the next period, the medical formation functioning as external section of the Central Military Emergency Hospital will host between 40 to 70 adult patients diagnosed with easy forms of SARS-CoV-2 or asymptomatic ones.

According to pre-established procedures, FMT ROL 2 will take over patients from "Prof. Dr. Matei Bals" National Institute for Infectious Diseases, Dr. Victor Babes Clinic Hosptal for Infectious and Tropical Diseases and Colentina Clinic Hospital, who will be transported with multiple victims' transportation vehicles (SMURD)

The ROL 2 Hospital consists of medical tents and containers which include, among others, triage units, laboratory, radiology, sterilization, decontamination area, the structure being declared operational after having gone through the necessary stages stipulated by the medical procedures in force.

Also, a camp consisting in 130 accommodation spaces designated to treat the easy and medium pathology of the patients infected with COVID-19 functions within the premises of the Ana Aslan Gerontology and Geriatrics Institute , while the Emergency Reception Unit functions within the institute facility, hosting accommodation spaces for the personnel manning the medical facility.
