Minister of National Defence, Nicolae-Ionel Ciuca, and the chief of Defence Staff, Lieutenant General Daniel Petrescu, awarded Emblems of Honour to the US Military Attache to Bucharest, Colonel Scott A. Weston, as well as to Lieutenant Colonel Casey Drew Shuff and Major Aaron David Selph from the United States of America Office of Defence Cooperation, within a ceremony held at the MoND Headquarters, on June 25th.

The distinctions were awarded to the American soldiers who are about to end their mission in Romania, as a sign of appreciation for their contribution brought to the prestige of the Romanian Armed Forces and to the development and consolidation of the bilateral relations between the two Allied and partners states.

The ceremony was organized in the context of marking 140 years of diplomatic relations between Romania and the United States of America, cooperation developed by the two states within NATO, during the missions from Afghanistan as well as by the joint management of the new challenges posed to the security, thus, leading to the further development of the Strategic Partnership in all its dimensions.
