Starting with 30th June, the General Directorate for Armaments, together with the Land Forces Staff, will conduct the last stage of testing and evaluation of the acceptance of PIRANHA V products, as part of the 8x8Armoured Personnel Carrier Program.

After having gone through this stage, the MoND will initiate the training procedures for the personnel that will operate and ensure the maintenance and reception of the first lot consisting in 36 8x8 - PIRANHA V APCs.

At the same time, the initiation of the testing and evaluation activities of the PIRANHA V products entails the continuation of the manufacturing process and integration of the essential military subsystems that make up the APCs.

Through the implementation of this major procurement program, the Ministry of National Defence continues the strategic commitment of engaging the Romanian national defence industry resources at the maximum level possible; the continuous flow of the activities was possible due to the constant efforts made by the General Directorate of Armaments and CN Romtehnica S.A., in cooperation with the economic operator GDELS Mowag GmbH.
