Romanian-French Dialogue at the Ministry of National Defence

State Secretary for Defence Policy, Planning and International Relations, Simona Cojocaru, received the visit of the Director for International development of the General Directorate for Armaments from the French Defence Ministry, General Thierry Carlier, on Friday, 24th July, at the MoND Headquarters.

During the meeting, the State Secretary appreciated the importance of the Strategic Partnership and the bilateral cooperation between the two countries as well as its consolidation in the field of defence.

During the talks, the officials approached topics recently added on NATO and EU agendas, including concrete ways of Romanian-French cooperation at various levels. The Romanian dignitary emphasized the support offered by France in the consolidation of NATO's defence and deterrence posture in the Black Sea region.

Another subject approached was the collaboration between the two states within the EU in the field of defence. The Romanian State Secretary highlighted the importance of the participation of the two entities from the domestic defence industries of the two countries in common projects funded from the European Defence Fund, including the permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO).
