NATO HUMINT Center of Excellence from Oradea celebrated 10 years since its establishment

On Wednesday, the 29th of July, the chief of Defence Staff, Lieutenant General Daniel Petrescu, participated in the ceremony marking the 10 years since the establishment of the NATO HUMINT Center of Excellence (HCOE) from Oradea.

The festivity was also attended by representatives of certain structures of the North-Atlantic Treaty Organization and of the contributing nations.

You are part of an elite NATO structure and the results of your work, expertise and dedication can be seen in the constant appreciations of our allies and partners. The Center of Excellence from Oradea became the main agent of the Alliance transformation in the HUMINT field by developing and implementing new policies and strategies with a view of enhancing operational capabilities in the benefit of the Allied forces and successful conduct of the NATO operations and missions , stated the chief of Defence Staff.

The HCOE din Oradea was accredited and activated as international military organization by the North-Atlantic Organization on 29th July 2010. 1,400 specialists were trained here to perform intelligence gathering missions over the last ten years.

Experts from eight countries The Czech Republic, Greece, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, SUA, Turkey and Hungary work beside the Romanian ones at Oradea.

Due to the excellent results scored by the HCOE personnel, the Center of Excellence from Oradea became the main supplier of HUMINT expertise within NATO's military intelligence services.
