State Secretary for Defence Policy, Planning and International Relations, Simona Cojocaru, received the Ambassador of the Republic of Brazil to Romania on presentation visit, His Excellency Maria Laura da Rocha, on Tuesday, August 25th.

During the talks, the two officials approached aspects related to the security environment, with focus on the developments generated by the current pandemic context as well as the status and perspectives of defence bilateral cooperation.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Brazil thanked the MoND leadership for the arrangements of the meeting and expressed her availability in supporting and promoting all actions that can lead to the increase of bilateral military cooperation, throughout her mandate.

The Romanian official presented the objectives and priorities of the defence policy and pointed out the Romanian party's interest in continuing the political-military dialogue at the level of the two defence ministries and identifying ways of cooperation based on a legislative framework that can assure the conduct of bilateral activities.

At the end of the talks, the two officials expressed their belief that the defence bilateral relations, in fields of common interest, will be further developed in the future.
