Conference of the Framework Nations Concept Participating Countries (FNC)

Minister of National Defence, Nicolae-Ionel Ciuca, participated, on Thursday, 27th August, in the second day of his visit to Berlin, in the Conference of the Framework Nations Concept Participating Countries (FNC), in the format of the defence ministers, coordinated by Germany (DEU FNC).

The main topic of discussion of the Conference of the Framework Nations Concept Participating Countries ( FNC) was the approval of the No.4 Progress Report of the nation-type group coordinated by the Germany (DEU FNC). The report reflects the evolutions made by this group throughout 2019-2020, as well as activities conducted on the two main directions of the initiative: establishment of formations and capability clusters identified to be developed.

The Romanian defence minister restated his appreciation of the German efforts in implementing the initiative as well as Romania's openness towards the continuous exploration of the opportunities and advantages the initiative can offer throughout the transformation, modernization and adaptation process of the Romanian Armed Forces. In this context, the officials emphasized our country's support in the alignment of the initiative activities with the PESCO projects currently run at the level of EU with a view of avoiding duplication of efforts and increase interoperability of forces.
