Receiving the new commander of the South-East Multinational Brigade (SEEBRIG)

State Secretary for Defence Policy, Planning and International Relations, Simona Cojocaru, received on Wednesday, 9 September, the visit of the new commander of the Multinational Brigade South-East (SEEBRIG), Brigadier General Aristeidis Iliopoulos, accompanied by the former commander, Brigadier General Tudorica Petrache and commander of the 9th Mechanized Brigade Marasesti, Brigadier General Florin Barbu. The meeting took place in the context of the evaluation of the structures made available to SEEBRIG by Romania.

The Romanian official thanked General Tudorica Petrache for the way he exerted the SEEBRIG command over the last three years and wished success to General Iliopoulos in his new position, expressing the hope that the projects initiated by his predecessor will be further and successfully developed.

At the same time, the State Secretary emphasized the strong support Romania shows to this regional cooperation format and expressed her conviction that the activities will continue to be carried out according to the plans approved by the defence ministers, even in the current pandemic context, including by exploring and identifying new formats of joint participation in exercises and training sessions with NATO and EU entities .

In his turn, the SEEBRIG commander thanked the Romanian official for receiving and expressed his satisfaction for the level of training held by the Romanian Armed Forces units he will have under his subordination.
