Romanian Aircraft and US B-52 Strategic Bombers at Exercise BOMBER WEAPON TRAINING

Two Romanian Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft and two US B-52 Stratofortress strategic bombers participated on Wednesday, 23rd September, in air exercise Bomber Weapon Training organized by the United States Air Force Europe (USAFE).

The Air Operational Component, Air Force Staff, coordinated the exercise in the Romanian air space , which included interception and escort missions conducted with F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft belonging to the 86th Air Base Locotenent aviator Gheorghe Mociornita, from Borcea.

The goal of the exercise was to strengthen the reassurance measures of the North-Atlantic Alliance in the South-Eastern Europe and increase of Romania's trust with regard to the involvement of the United States of America in ensuring regional security.

The participation of the Romanian aircraft in this type of activities allows the training of the personnel in the execution of such missions and contribute to the development of the multinational cooperation in the air field by applying common procedures.
