Reunion of the Romanian - American Executive Committee, in virtual working sessions

The Reunion of the Romanian -American Executive Committee for the implementation of the Agreement between Romanian and The United States of America on the activities of US forces deployed on Romanian territory (Defense Cooperation Agreement - DCA) and the Agreement between Romania and USA on the emplacement of the Ballistic Missile Defense Agreement BMDA in Romania took place over 2nd-23rd November, by means of virtual working sessions.

The Romanian -American Executive Committee , co-chaired by the Department for Defence Policy, Planning and International Relations for the Romanian party, respectively by the EUCOM for the US part, finalized the subcommittees' working sessions in a single virtual session, on Monday, 23rd November, thus, reiterating both parties commitment in continuing defence cooperation, which reflects in real time Romania's and USA's positions expressed in October through the signing of the Defence Cooperation Roadmap for 2020-2030 on October 8th, at Washington.

The Romanian -American Executive Committee coordinates and takes actions in the political-military matters at the level of the execution commissioned officers, according to the provisions or in support of the mixed Romanian American, which is a bilateral defence cooperation structure, whose Romanian co-chairman is the State Secretary for Defence Policy, Planning and International Relations, Simona Cojocaru.

The working sub-committees, auxiliary bilateral bodies established at the level of the Romania-American Executive Committee for the management of the problematic from its area of responsibility held virtual working sessions, over 2rd-13th November 2020, when they agreed on the future lines of actions regarding the enhancement of bilateral cooperation during the conduct of current activities within Deveselu Military Base Headquarters which hosts the US Aegis Ashore Missile Defence System , expanding the air bases from Mihail Kogalniceanu and Campia Turzii, the joint training and exercises conducted with the allied and partner states, developing the infrastructure projects run under the aegis of the European Deterrence Initiative (EDI) as well as other common interest topics.
