Official Ceremony in Bucharest, on Romania's National Day

Almost 150 military personnel of the MoND will participate on Tuesday, December 1st, starting 11.00, in the official ceremony organized in small group, to mark the National Day of Romania in the Arch of Triumph Square, from Bucharest.

During the ceremony, the officials will keep a moment of silence in the memory of the heroes fallen in the battles fought for the reunification of the Romanian people and for the victims of SARS-CoV-2 virus, 21 cannonballs will be fired and the Romanian President, Klaus Iohannis, will lay a wreath and make an allocution.

The event will not be open to the public and will be conducted by strictly respecting the legal provisions referring to the prevention and combating of the COVID-19 pandemics.

The journalists accredited to the ceremony will have pedestrian access to the ceremony only on Tuesday, December 1st, through Charles de Gaulle Square, Constantin Prezan Avenue, between 08.00 and 10.00. The live broadcasts will be made only with the portable devices.

The Romanian Television, as official broadcaster, will provide a free of charge TV signal to all TV interested posts, provided that these mention, throughout the whole broadcast period, the text Romanian Television Broadcasting.

On the occasion of the National Day, representatives of the Romanian Armed Forces will participate at the request and with the support of the local authorities in the preparation, organization and conduct of a small sized-ceremony in some of the garrisons where the formations are deployed and the military personnel deployed in missions abroad will also conduct small-size -ceremonies.

Also, the National Flag will be hoisted in all military institutions throughout the country and the ships will be dressed rainbow fashion.

On Friday, November 27th, there was a rehearsal at Ghencea Training Field, during which the soldiers of the 30th Guard Brigade Mihai Viteazul fired cannonballs.

On November 30th, starting 11.00, there will be a rehearsal at the Arch of Triumph which will be conducted by respecting the same COVID 19 prevention measures. The public will not have access in the area where the event will be conducted or its adjacent spaces.

In the same line of respecting the norms for the prevention of the spread of the virus, we recommend the mass-media institutions that wish to broadcast images from the parade rehearsal, to nominate, where possible, the same accredited team for the National Day of Romania, so that the area doesn't get crowded. The live broadcasts from the rehearsal can be also made only with the help of the portable devices.

The use of the Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems RPAS in the air space where the ceremony unfolds is prohibited, according to the provisions of Article 12 of Government Ordinance no. 912/2010.

The Bucharest Traffic Brigade will take measures to ensure the traffic fluency and inform the drivers with respect to the road restrictions imposed on the roadsides leading to the Arch to Triumph Square for 30th November and 1st December.
