Humanitarian flight of the Romanian Air Force

On Thursday, 17th December, a Romanian Air Force C-130 Hercules Aircraft will bring into the country, from Germany, intensive care equipment destined to the Romanian medical units for the treatment of the patients infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The equipment was donated by the Federal Republic of Germany. The Romanian soldiers who were injured in Afghanistan and were treated at the Regional Medical Center from Landstuhl will be repatriated with the same flight.

Press statements will be held by representatives of the Ministry of Health and German Embassy to Bucharest, around 15.30.

Journalists interested in attending the activity will be expected on Wednesday, between 14.30-15.00, at the 90th Airlift Base Headquarters (1 Zborului Street, Otopeni). Point of contact: Commander Mihai Albu, tel. 0722.734.412.

The activity will be conducted by strictly respecting the legal provisions the prevention and combating the effects of the COVID-19 pandemics.

MoND will make a live broadcasting, on is Facebook page, the arrival of the aircraft and will make available to the press imagery with the arrival of the aircraft and the transfer of medical equipment into road transportation means.

The soldiers injured in Afghanistan will be hospitalized at the Multitasking Medical Care Facility for the Military Personnel Injured in the Theaters of Operations from the Military Emergency Hospital Dr. Carol Davila, where they will be evaluated by a medical board.

Based on the result of the clinic and para-clinic investigations, the patients will benefit from specialty medical treatments, assistance and psychological counseling as well as post-operatory neuromotor programs, adapted to each patient.
