Minister of National Defence, Nicolae-Ionel Ciuca, receive the visit of the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Romania, Cord Meier-Klodt, at the MoND headquarters, on Tuesday, 16th February.

During the meeting, the officials approached subjects related to the defence field, at the same time exploring ways of increasing capabilities to counter the security threats, including from the perspective of the adaptation of the mechanisms to the current pandemic context.

Considering the strategic importance of the Black Sea for NATO and EU stability, the talks mainly focused on the security challenges posed in the region, including from the perspective of Germany's contribution to the allied structures deployed on Romanian territory as well as to the enhanced Air Policing mission conducted this year.

During the talks, both officials highlighted the importance of consolidating cooperation, both within NATO and EU as well as at bilateral level.
