Defence Minister Nicolae-Ionel Ciuca, received the visit of the Charge d'Affaires of the US Embassy to Bucharest, David Muniz, at the MoND headquarters, on Friday, 19th February.

The two officials had a talk on the status of the bilateral cooperation as well as on its development perspectives in the context of the signing of the Defence Cooperation Roadmap for 2020-2030, on October 9th, 2020.

At the same time, the meeting was a good opportunity to approach the current threats of the security environment, with focus on those posed in the Black Sea region. Not the least, the talks aimed current topics listed on the allied agenda, in the context of the Meetings of the NATO Ministers of Defence which took place over 17th-18th February.

In this context, minister Ciuca emphasized the importance of the Strategic Partnership between Romania and the USA and the support offered to the Romanian authorities with a view of developing it as well as to consolidating cooperation among NATO and other international organizations.
