The ninth rotation of the Anti-air Defence Detachment deployed to Poland

The soldiers who ensure the ninth national rotation of the Anti-air Defence Detachment participating in the NATO Polish Battle-group left on Monday, 12th April, towards the military base from Bemowo Piskie, in order to participate in the mission of ensuring the enhanced Forward Presence - eFP on the Northeastern Flank of the Alliance.

The Romanian contingent, made up of approximately 100 soldiers of the 288th Air Defence Battalion Milcov, 282nd Armour Brigade Unirea Principatelor from Focsani, participate for the first time in this type of mission, this being the second rotation from Poland which will operate the Gepard Air Defence system.

The detachment is part of the US-led NATO Battle-group, with the mission of ensuring the enhance forward and consolidated presence on rotational system, in the North-East of the Alliance in order to discourage any potential aggression, according to the measures adopted within the 2016 Warsaw NATO Summit.

During the mission, the artillery specialists will participate in training exercises and activities together with US, British and Croat soldiers, when they will test and validate the techniques tactics and procedures exercised in the training field with a view of enhancing cohesion and increase of interoperability level among NATO member troops.
