On Tuesday, 13th July, Minister Nicolae-Ionel Ciuca participated in the Task Force TAKUBA videoconference, organized by the French defence minister, Florence Parly.

During the talks, the defence ministers and their representatives from 26 states Belgium, Canada, The Czech Republic, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, Great Britain, Mali, Niger, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, United States of America, Sweden, The Netherlands, Ukraine and Hungary approached topics such as cooperation in the context of provison of the security, stability and countering of terrorism in Sahel region.

At the beginning of June, the Parliament approved the participation of the Romanian Armed Forces in Task Force Takuba Mission in Sahel, led by France, with a 50 soldier detachment.

The technical and legislative procedures were initiated so that the mission be prepared under the best circumstances.
