On Tuesday, 7th September, State Secretary for Defence Policy, Planning and International Relations, Simona Cojocaru, had a meeting with the Director of the EU SatCen, Ambassador Sorin Ducaru, at the MoND Headquarters, in the context of the ever more important role of the Center within the EU CDSP.

The state secretary thanked the EU SatCen team for its professionalism and dedication, being in support of a bigger level of ambition with respect to the development and modernization of the Center, our country being an important beneficiary of the geospatial imagery services and products provided by the EU SatCen.

EU SatCen Director, Sorin Ducaru, expressed his appreciation for Romania's significant contribution in support of the efforts mad to consolidate the Center capacity as well as of the participation in the activities meant to increase EU's role in the spatial field.

EU SatCen is a EU intergovernmental agency specialized in the field of geospatial imagery and intelligence (GEOINT), with the headquarters in Torrejon de Ardoz, Spain. The center's mission is to provide products based on exact and relevant geospatial intelligence, which substantiate the European decision-making and planning processes as well as to use this intelligence in support of the military operations and mission led by the EU and other international organizations.
