State Secretary for Defence Policy, Planning and International Relations, Simona Cojocaru, met with the Chief of the Albanian Naval Forces, Brigadier General Ilir Xhebexhia, on Wednesday, 24th November, at the MoND headquarters.

During the meeting, the officials approached topics such as the status and development perspectives of the defence cooperation relations both at bilateral level and within the North-Atlantic Alliance. Also, the two officials talked about the security situation at international and regional levels, including both states' commitments within the regional initiatives, as well as about the allied measures taken in order to consolidate NATO's defence and deterrence posture.

At the end of the meeting, State Secretary Cojocaru and Brigadier General Xhebexhia emphasized the importance of consolidating practical cooperation between the two armed forces, by continuing conducting joint exercises, including within international format.
