Defence Minister Vasile Dincu received the Charge d'Affaires of the US Embassy to Bucharest, David Muniz, on Tuesday, 11th January, at the MoND Headquarters.

The talks agenda focused on the main lines of effort of the bilateral relations scheduled for the next period, in the context of the implementation of the Roadmap provisions for Defence Cooperation over 2020-2030.

Also, during the talks, the two officials approached the current challenges posed to the security environment, with focus on those present in the Black Sea area, taking into consideration the recent developments in the region.

The Romanian dignitary emphasized the solidity of the Strategic Partnership and its importance within the modernization process of the Romanian Armed Forces and thanked the American partner for the excellent level of cooperation at bilateral level.

At the same time, the Romanian defence minister sent his appreciation for the US support with respect to the consolidation of NATO's defence and deterrence posture on the Eastern Flank and in the Black Sea region, pointing out the importance of this region in providing for the security of the Alliance Eastern Flank.
