Captain Eugen Ispas, PR officer of the 281st Infantry Battalion Bolden Eagles dislocated in Kandahar, Afghanistan transmitted:

This week during a routine mission in the area of responsibility about 4 kms from Kandahar a patrol from the 281st Infantry Battalion discovered important quantities of infantry ammunition and artillery.

Next to the disassembled barracks the militaries discovered a depot of ammunition with more then 1000 boxes of 7.62mm; 14.5mm and 12.7mm. Also there were more then 20 bombs for 82mm launchers and two artillery projectiles.

The situation was immediately reported to the command of 3 Bronco Brigade for sending the specialized teams in disassembling the depot and the ammunition would be destroyed in firing field.

The Romanian military patrol safely returned to the base and within the briefing organized at the US Brigade command the mission was appreciated as a success.
