Romanian Air Force humanitarian mission
A Romanian Air Force C-27 J Spartan aircraft, configured for MEDEVAC missions, took off on Tuesday, 31 May, from 90th Airlift Base Otopeni in order to conduct a humanitarian transport mission on route Iași-Milano (Italy) for a newborn baby with cardiac malformations, who presented a serious health condition.
The medical team who monitored the patient during the flight was made up of SMURD and 90th Airlift Base Otopeni specialists, while the patient was transported from the hospital to the airport with a SMURD ambulance.
The aircraft took off from the 90th Airlift Base Otopeni to Iași around 10.00, and for Milano from Iași, at 11:00.
