Romanian Air Force humanitarian mission in support of three Ukrainian patients

On Sunday, 12 June, a Romanian Air Force C-27 J Spartan aircraft configured for MEDEVAC missions is conducting a humanitarian mission on route Otopeni - RzeszowJasionka (Poland) Copenhagen (Denmark) - Otopeni.

Thus, three Ukrainian patients, aged 18, 49 and, respectively, 50, will be taken over from Rzeszow-Jasionka International Airport and airlifted to Copenhagen for treatment provided by medical units from Denmark.

The team which monitors the patients during the flight is made up of specialist of the Bucharest Emergency Clinic Hospital and the 90th Airlift Base.

The military aircraft took off from the 90th Airlift base around 9.00.

The airlift request was made by the Department for Emergency Situations upon Ukraine's solicitation based on the European Union Civilian Protection Mechanism, through the Early Warning and Response System (EWRS) platform a mechanism created by the European Commission in order to facilitate the transfer of patients from Ukraine to the EU member states.
