Military agreement between Romania and United Arab Emirates

On Wednesday, 22 June, State Secretary for Defence Policy, Planning and International Relations, Simona Cojocaru, participated in the second working session of the Cooperation Commission between the Government of Romania and the Government of United Arab Emirates, held at Abu Dhabi.

On the occasion of her visit, the Romanian official had a bilateral meeting with her counterpart from the United Arab Emirates, Under Secretary of State from the Ministry of Defence, Mattar Salem Ali Al Dhaheri. The talks focused on the cooperation between the two countries within multilateral formats and both parties expressed their common interest for increasing bilateral cooperation in potential fields such as joint training, military education, logistics and military medicine.

In this respect, during the working sessions of the Commission, the two officials signed the Agreement between the Government of Romania and the Government of United Arab Emirates on military cooperation. The paper will ensure the legal framework of the cooperation between the two parties in common fields of interest.

The signing of the bilateral agreement confirms the ascending trend of the bilateral relation, reflected by both states' openness to the enhancement of cooperation.
