Joint Romanian-Moldovan Military Committee Reunion, at Chisinau

State Secretary for Defence Policy, Planning and International Relations, Simona Cojocaru, co-chaired the working sessions of the seventh Joint Romanian-Moldovan Military Committee Reunion over 14-16 September, at Chisinau, the Republic of Moldova.

The reunion was officially opened by State Secretary for Defence Policy, National Defence Planning and Military Interoperability, Valeriu Mija, together with his Romanian counterpart, Simona Cojocaru, who emphasized in her allocution the importance of defence cooperation between Romania and the Republic of Moldova, this being one of the pillars of the Strategic Partnership between the two states.

Also, the Romanian official appreciated the quality and constant character of the bilateral dialogue both from the high-level perspective and the working level one.

At the same time, during the talks between the experts of the two delegations, the officials assessed the status of the projects proposed within the last reunion of November 2021 as well as the initiation of certain new cooperation projects in the fields of cybernetic defence, joint training, military education, logistics, military medicine and the participation of the Republic of Moldova in the SEDM projects and UN-led missions.

During the same visit, State Secretary Simona Cojocaru had meetings with Defence Minister Anatolie Nosatii, the Chief of General Staff, Brigadier General Eduard Ohladciuc, State Secretary from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Ruslan Bolbocean, as well as representatives of the NATO Liaison Office to Chisinau.

During the activities, the Romanian official reiterated Romania's firm and concrete support throughout the European Integration process of the Republic of Moldova. Also, the dignitaries identified concrete actions that can contribute to the development of the relations with the Euro-Atlantic structures.

On the occasion of her visit to Chisinau, State Secretary Simona Cojocaru also participated in the Event A common history, a common heritage: the art of ornamental stitching on top of the sleeve of the traditional costume element of cultural identity in Romania and the Republic of Moldova', meant to promote the file ' The art of ornamental stitching on top of the sleeve of the traditional costume ', submitted to UNESCO by Romania and the Republic of Moldova.
