Minister of National Defence, Angel Tilvar, met with Fusun Aramaz, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Bucharest, on Monday, 28 November, at the MoND Headquarters.

The meeting agenda focused on topics referring to cooperation within NATO, with emphasis on the decisions made at the Madrid Summit as well as on the developments of the regional security situation, the support provided to Ukraine and the cooperation between Romania and Turkey.

With reference to the bilateral cooperation, the officials pointed out the excellent status of the Romanian-Turkish relations in the military field run within the Strategic Partnership - a cooperation framework which marked 10 years of existence - but also within Romania-Poland-Turkey Trilateral Cooperation Format.

At the end of the meeting, the two officials agreed to continue period consultations on common interest topics in order to increase defence cooperation relations at bilateral level and within NATO.
