On Thursday, February 2nd, Minister of National Defence, Angel Tilvar, received the visit of the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Bucharest, Osama Yousef A.A. Alqaradawi, at the MoND Headquarters.

During the meeting, the officials approached topics referring to the status and perspectives of the bilateral defence relations, both from the perspective of Qatar as a NATO partner state and considering the other international organizations Romania is part of.

Thus, the talks emphasized the reciprocal interest in the development of the current legal framework in force between the two states, as well as in the identification of common interest areas which could contribute to the increase of the bilateral cooperation level, considering both the efficient use of resources and a coherent and concrete reference to the challenges posed to the international security environment.

During the talks, the minister of national defence also emphasized Romania's involvement and efforts made to provide multidimensional support to Ukraine.

At the end of the meeting, the two officials expressed their commitment to continuing the political - military dialogue with a view of enhancing defence cooperation.
