On Tuesday, May 23rd, State Secretary for Defence Policy, Planning and International Relations, Simona Cojocaru, received the courtesy visit of the Deputy Minister of Defence Industry from Azerbaijan, Vugar Mustafayev, at the MoND headquarters.

The meeting represented a good opportunity to emphasize the good level of Romanian-Azeri defence cooperation, in the light of the Strategic Partnership between the two states and also in the context of the celebration, in 2022, of 30 years of Romanian-Azeri diplomatic relations.

At bilateral level, the military educational activities and the willingness to identify ways of cooperation in other areas as well, such as in the field of the defence industry, were highlighted.

The State Secretary expressed the openness of the Romanian side for an effective capitalization of the Strategic Partnership between the two countries, by capitalizing on the cooperation opportunities in various fields specific to the defence sector.

In conclusion, both parties appreciated the bilateral dialogue as welcome and appropriate, by expressing their confidence in the prospect of developing joint projects in the field of defence, undertaken both at bilateral and multinational levels.
