Defence Minister visited Le Bourget Air Show

On his official visit to France, Minister of National Defence, Angel Tilvar, visited Le Bourget Air Show, one of the most representative events in the field, worldwide.

As part of this event, the Romanian official had a series of meetings with representatives of the defence industry from Europe, the United States of America, the Middle East, but also from the Asia-Pacific region.

An important aspect of the visit was represented by the meetings with the representatives of the Romanian industry, companies such as AEROSTAR, AERO CARE, AEROSPACE SERVICES, GM&T INTERNATIONAL 2000, AEROFINA or STRAERO being present in Paris.

Minister of Defence emphasized Romania's commitment to increasing its strategic credibility, based on the compliance with the parameters established at NATO level for defence funding, the increase of national defence capacity and of the response time.

Minister Tilvar showed that, in the current security context, the defence industry in Romania can play an important role in terms of the increased military capability requirements established at national level. 'The modernization of this sector is more necessary than ever, so this type of meetings can help identify concrete ways by which top companies acting in the global defence industry can collaborate with economic operators of the same profile from Romania,' said Angel Tilvar stated in discussions with representatives of the domestic defence industry.

'I am glad that the official visit to France gave me the opportunity to visit Le Bourge Air Show, alongside specialists in the field, in order have an overall image of what the global defence industry means today. I saw top technology. That's why, in the design of all procurement programs, we seek to capitalize as much as possible on the domestic defence industry, through the transfer of technology and expertise, including the maintenance and exploitation component', Minister Tilvar declared.

The Romanian official also visited French manufacturing and maintenance facilities in the Naval Forces field.
