The British Ambassador to Bucharest was awarded the Romanian Armed Forces’ Emblem of Honor by Minister Tîlvãr
Minister of National Defence, Angel Tîlvãr, had a bilateral meeting with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Bucharest, Andrew Noble, on Monday, October 9, at the MoND headquarters.
The meeting between the two officials took place in the context of the conclusion of the mission of the British official in our country.
Minister of National Defence thanked the British Ambassador for the contribution made to the development of the bilateral relationship between the two states and for the international promotion of Romania's interests. In recognition of his merits and for the support provided to the MoND activities, Minister Tîlvãr presented Ambassador Andrew Noble with the Emblem of Honor of the Romanian Armed Forces.
"All recent events have proven that Romania and Great Britain have similar views regarding the challenges they face, and we will make the necessary efforts to continue developing the bilateral relationship. It is obvious that only together we can deal with the multiple crises we are facing", the Romanian minister stated.
The meeting agenda included topics related to the security situation in the Black Sea area in the context of the latest developments in Russia's war of aggression in Ukraine, ways to strengthen the Romanian-British bilateral relationship, but also current and future aspects related to the enhancement of cooperation between the two armed forces, especially in the light of the development of the defence industry and the procurement programs of the Romanian Armed Forces.
Great Britain's contribution to the strengthening of the Allied posture on the eastern flank was also appreciated, as a concrete proof of Allied solidarity and unity. Great Britain will continue to contribute to the NATO enhanced Air Policing (eAP) Missions in Romania, a new contingent being scheduled to be deployed in our country in 2024.
The British Ambassador congratulated Romania for its role as a factor of regional stability and for its troop contribution to the missions conducted in the Western Balkans and Africa.

The Romanian minister emphasized the importance of maintaining political-military dialogue at both a high level, thus strengthening the implementation of existing bilateral projects and facilitating the identification of new opportunities for cooperation.
